My boyfriend and I don't really do anything. One year I forgot and felt bad because he got me a Cadbury Creme Egg and I got him nothing. The next year I made sure I made up for my mistake and got him something nice and he got me nothing!

No me and my boyfriend now ex, didn't really celebrate, he always got me flowers though and I got him a card and he made sure the flowers were not roses cause he said that was pretty boring.

I once dated this crazy marine biologist. In retrospect he was a little off, even by my extremely loose standards. Anyone, one year he brought me a dead squid in a vat of formaldehyde for Valentine's Day. Apropos of nothing. He said he saw it and thought of me. Years later, I'm still not quite sure what to make of that.

um I am unfortunate, I have never received a valentine's day gift. But this year I think that is going to change!

I once received a Tweety Bird valentine card with red glitter. The caption and inside read "I tawt I taw a Valentine" "I did! I did taw a Valentine and it's YOU!"
I was 29 years old, and this was from the man I had been involved with for years. LOL!
The best part - he had also given me a red glittery Tweety Bird Christmas card 2 months earlier...and no, there is no inside Tweety joke in our relationship.
I am still confused by it.

My first serious boyfriend in college decided to cover my dorm room in roses - my roomie let him in while I was in classes. It was supposed to be romantic but I had never had anyone give me flowers before & I sort of freaked out. I ended up sobbing uncontrollably & my poor boyfriend was so confused. Needless to say I spoiled that Valentine's Day!

The worst present - a plaid denim workshirt from an ex-boyfriend. And the wrong size too.

The best present - an engagement ring and proposal from my husband. We've been married almost 6 years now.

Great giveaway!

I had to be away from my boyfriend for valentines day (and my birthday which is only 2 days earlier) one year, for a sporting event. When I got back to my hotel after a hard tournament, I found a dozen roses waiting for me in my room. Pretty fabulous. =)

This sounds weird but hubby got the oven fixed one year for Valentines. It was sweet because I bitched about it but not very romantic.

OK, so this was when I was 10 years old... I really liked this boy and I gave him a troll doll with a little heart on it... and so he brought it home and his mom FORCED him to give me a gift... and it was a PEN!!!!

LOL!! Needless to say, he was not interested in my romantic efforts. ;) heheheh

The worst gift ever was from my boyfriend then of 6 years. He got me a hooker-red nightie and matching robe in satin....in a 2XX when I wore a size 10. He said it looked "comfy". bah.

Best gift was from my current husband, who gave me a "Jack Flanders" adventure from ZBS Audio, took me out for sushi, and made sure I was stuffed with Almond Roca. You just gotta marry the man that knows what you like! heh.

I'm getting a new car this year. That's the best.

lol, the worst thing I ever got on Valentines day was nothing. Unfortunately I rarely get anything. Hubby isn't the most romantic person is he? I'd love for someone to drop a bug in his ear and explain what Valentines means to all us women out there. lol

i don't really do valentine's. not in the serious "buy me jewelery and i'll buy you something equally awesome" kinda way. that said, even though my boyfriend and i don't celebrate it (and he hates it quite a bit) i still enjoy making something, very little, and calling it a february 14th present - excluding the V word entirely. last year i bought a tin of green tea (his favourite), took off all the little tabs and attached little 'i love you' hearts to each individual teabag. so that when he went away on tour, he still had 50 days of 'je t'aime' and 'you're sweet!' even with me not there. i'm basically a pretty awesome girlfriend, haha.

Haha this is a funny story. In high school I had a boyfriend and we had been dating maybe four months and all the sudden it's Valentine's Day. Woohoo. Anyway, I was racking my brain to get him something meaningful and I know he always liked licorice. So, I made him a homemade card and got him a huge package of licorice and I had it ready to give it to him. So, he comes by to pick me up and first he doesn't have his present so I think, great now I look like an idiot but then! The funny part is I said "Here I got the licorice half off." I did (but I probably should've just kept my mouth shut), but I just wanted to say something, anything because I felt awkward. It was bad. And so embarrassing

My mom always gives us socks on Valentine's Day. It's a tradition, we get really upset when she doesn't give us socks now - she's trained us to expect them!

The best gift I ever got was a pretty necklace from my husband. That's the only Valentine's gift I recall, except from my parents. Of course, he refused to call it a Valentine's gift, and even took me to pick it out on the 13th. :P

A few years ago my husband, though we weren't married yet then, got me a beautiful white gold heart bracelet. He outdid himself that year! :D

My husband knows I like anything from Mary Englebreit. A few years ago he got me decorative Mary Englebreit measuring spoons that hang on the wall and say Love, Hugs, Faith, and Hope. Awww..how sweet! =)

My boyfriend surprised me last year with two dozen red roses after we'd talked that we weren't going to do anything for each other on that day. They arrived at work and I cried. My boss' laughed and laughed at me! ;-) But having a long distance relationship is hard, but getting those roses sure helped bridge the gap a little! I'm very blessed as he loves to surprise me and take care of me unconditionally!

I never had a "real" valentine's day until I was 18, in college, and had a boyfriend. He is amazing and spent way more than he should have with candy, a bear, a mug, a handmade card and of course the typical dozen roses. It was cliche but I had never been treated so wonderfully!

The most terrible gift I ever recieved was a Huge heartshaped box of yummy chocolates..This was horrible because my little bitty dog ate the hole thing and died within a week because, well Chocolate is toxic to dogs. :(

Most terrible gift: once in high school, a boyfriend of mine gave me a stuffed lamb that said "I love Ew". Barf!

The gifts I have received from my husband have been pretty typical, a new phone, chocolates, a pretty scarf. the best gift for both my husband and I is our 19 year old son whose birthday is valentine's day. He was 3 weeks early, perfect and a total blessing to our lives as are our other two kids.

hmmm - my first Valentine's day with my current boyfriend was fun! In his apartment, he built this cool kinda "tent" with red and burgundy sheers...almost like an Ali Babba and the 4 Thieves kind of theme. There were cozy pillows inside and champagne on ice...we giggled and got cozy...

What a fun contest and what gorgeous pendants you have! I actually had something taken away from me on Valentine's Day. Last year, I had a tooth pulled. It is the only irrational fear I have. It was probably one of the worst experiences ever.

I was 12 (it was the 80's) and my very first boyfriend got me a stick pin with a heart on it. I wore it every day and thought it was so beautiful! Love is blind. =)

I love home made Valentine gifts.
One year an exboyfriend of mine made me a hand made valentine card and wrote me a song on fancy paper and sang it to me. The card was not very creative and the song was kinda cheesy but it was sooo cute that he took the time to do it and try to incorporate the things that were important in our relationship. It probably cost him like $5 to make and it was the best present I've ever received! :D
